Mischening
A fine imposed upon a litigant who when giving evidence departed from the original declaration. As part of his coronation oath Stephen swore 'entirely [to] do away with all exactions, mischeningas, and injustices'. [< OldEngl. miscenning, mis = error + cenning = perception]
